Lower Key Stage 2 Home Learning

Home Learning refers to tasks given to pupils by their teachers to be completed outside of usual lessons. Common activities in school tend to be reading or practising spelling and number facts, but may also include more extended activities to develop inquiry skills or more directed and focused work such as revision for tests.

Practising skills, such as, timetables or lists of words/spellings can be helpful in embedding learning that has taken place in class. Likewise, comprehension tasks can help a child develop reading skills. Research tasks are helpful in developing enquiry and interests in areas that may be limited in school.
