Early Years Home Learning
Once our children are settled, we will begin some home learning tasks.
These will consist of;
Share a book with your child and read to them each day.
Practise your child’s key words little and often each day.
Practise reading the guided reading book that has been used to teach reading in class. Your child will bring home a reading book, twice per week, to practise and consolidate the taught session in class. This must be in the bookbag each day. There will also be a reading record book that will be used to communicate to parents.
During the autumn term, a weekend diary will be sent home. This is to encourage children to mark-make/write about their weekend news.
This will go home with your child each Monday, and will need to be returned the following Monday.
Other homework linked to maths or topic work may be sent at times.
